Janina Gaudin

Janina is an Aotearoa New Zealand Samoan illustrator, animator and comic artist working in her bespoke creative studio, Portmanteau. She is known for her bright and colorful style, with a passion for crafting powerful and impactful story telling to bring human issues and stories to life. 

She has created work for the World Health Organization, University of Auckland Centre for Brain Research, T1International, RTeach Institute, Biobalance and more.

Her work has been featured (and followed) by Bernie Sanders for his 2019 political campaign. She has also been  interviewed by BBC The Conversation, Brut America and The Mighty.

She is currently signed on with Harper Collins to illustrate the children’s book “It Belongs To The World”, written by Lisa Katzenberger, out in Fall 2024.

Her work is used in graphic medicine, science illustration health advocacy, social justice and education.
